Pauline Memelink

I have been dancing for about 30 years just for fun, beside working. It makes me happy to move and dancing brings more balance in my life. Via classical ballet I came in touch with modern dance en later also dance expression. During my school time I was active in the school theatre group. Through yoga I got in touch with meditation and buddhism.

For a long time, I thought I was 'not 'good enough' to professionally do something with movement, dance and theatre. Until I heard about the educational trajectory of
Movement, Dance and Play for coaching and caregiving, during a summer dance course.  In spring 2015 I succesfully completed this movement education. That summer I started teaching and founded Moving the Mind. At this moment I am studying at the Emove Instituut to become a certified Laban Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Somatic Movement educator. In July 2020 I obtained my certificate as a Mindfulness Trainer at the Centre of Mindfulness in Amsterdam.

In daily life I have worked as an attorney, university teacher of law, knowledge manager and team leader at a leading law firm. At the moment I work as a skills teacher at Leiden Law Faculty and as a volunteer teacher at Buddhist Centre Haaglanden.

Additional education

During the week I take lessons in modern dance, ballet or yoga for the wellness of body and mind. These past few years I took many courses in Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Mudra Space Awareness and participated in dance weeks, yoga retreats, MSA-retreats, movement workhsops and dance weekends.
